Branston AD Plant Completed 2009

Since 1968, Branston Limited has grown from a small cooperative of potato farmers selling their produce to the market, to a nationwide buyer and seller of over 300,000 tonnes of potatoes per year to retail, wholesale and foodservice customers.

To help add value to the stockfeed potatoes (potatoes not suitable for human consumption) on site, Branston Limited, built a 400kW Anaerobic Digestion Plant at their Lincoln site under the Renewable Obligtion Scheme in 2009. Fuelled by stockfeed potatoes, the Anaerobic digestion plant provides approximately 2000 Mwh of clean electricity per annum to the site.

Since 2013, TradeLink Solutions have assisted Branston AD Plant with monthly data submissions to Ofgem for them to realise the revenue due to them for producing renewable energy by being part of the RO scheme. Once the relevant ROCs (Renewable Obligation Certificates) are issued by Ofgem, TradeLink Solutions manages the transfer of said certificates for sale in their monthly ROC Auction, aggregating them with ROCs from other producers to obtain the highest price possible.
