Private Networks

TradeLink has extensive experience in managing local community and off grid projects. We have many projects throughout the UK where we operate renewable generation and electrical systems for our own use and for third parties.

These projects range from supplying the output from a renewable generator direct to a single consumer up to multi generator multi customer networks such as Fair Isle in the Scottish Islands.

Examples of private networks we are currently involved with are shown below

INDUSTRIAL
Balgonie Power plant is an example of a single turbine generation project connecting a 2 km private cable to the Tullis Russell Paper Factory. TradeLink operates the Generator, cable network and undertakes the administration to ensure all the parties receive their Renewable benefits under the Renewables Obligation. TradeLink also provides commercial support to the Tullis Russell owned generator.

PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP
TradeLink works with the National Trust at Aberdulais and the North Pennines Heritage Trust at Nenthead to deliver onsite electricity generated by hydroelectric projects. This electricity is used to supply the Heritage centres through private networks and any excess electricity is exported to the grid.

COMMUNITY and ISLAND BASED SYSTEMS
In the Scottish Highlands and Islands TradeLink has a contractual relationship with a number of local and community projects. On Fair Isle, for examples, Hydro and Wind turbines are used to supply the electricity to over 50 customers on the island. Other examples include projects at Knoydart and the Isle of Eigg.

ENERGY PARKS
TradeLink Solutions was involved in an advisory capacity in the development of the Baglan Bay Power station near Neath in South Wales. The project resulted in the development of an Energy park where manufacturers can take advantage of the major power station on site. We supply and distribute electricity to 25 business customers at the park.
