Operations and Asset Development
TradeLink Solutions owns 4 hydro power stations and operates one hydro power station for the National Trust, through its sister companies TLS Hydro Power Ltd and Nenthead Mines Hydro Power Ltd.
Balgonie Hydro Power Station on the River Leven near Markinch in Fife is a 650kW station built in 1922 and producing 2,400,000kWh per annum, which is equivalent to the requirements of 700 homes. Balgonie supplies electricity to a local paper mill, Tullis Russell Papermakers Ltd.
Stormontfield Hydro Power Station in Colenhaugh, near Perth built in 1946, is a smaller 110kW station producing 650,000kWh per annum or equivalent to the requirements of 200 homes. Stormontfield is connected directly to the National grid.
Nenthead Mines Hydro Power Station is situated on the site of the Nenthead Mines Heritage Centre at Nenthead near Alston in Cumbria. The power station is a venture between Nenthead Mines Hydro Power Ltd and the North Pennines Heritage Trust which was completed in 2005. Nenthead is a 402kW station which could meet the requirements of 400 homes. Nenthead supplies electricity to the Heritage Trust and to the National grid.
Cleghorn Hydro Power Station on the Mouse River at Lanark in Motherwell is a 290kW station built in 2005 capable of producing 900,000kWh per annum or equivalent to the requirements of 275 homes. Cleghorn is connected directly to the National grid.
Aberdulais Hydro Power Station on the Dulais River at Neath in West Glamorgan is a 230kW station built in 1992. The hydro power station is situated on the National Trust site at Aberdulais Falls and is operated on behalf of the National Trust by TLS Hydro Power Ltd. The site is capable of producing 800,000kWh per annum and supplies electricity directly to the Aberdulais Falls site and to the National grid.
